Dr Dowd has worked within the Justice system for over 32 years and offers expert evidence in all areas of legal and tribunal proceedings where issues of behavioural risk create concerns for the vulnerable or injustice result in consequences for those who are unfairly questioned.
As a Fulbright Fellow he conducted research into mental health awareness and understanding in three US police Departments and developed a training programme for UK police officers that received the Queen Elizabeth II award for innovation. He has previously worked within the UK high-security prison establishment as Senior Forensic Psychologist and, as well as his current role as Director and Consultant with Forensis, he also acts as a Consultant Forensic Psychologist for US Immigration Service applications.
